Polarised Ski Goggles

There’s nothing quite like the freedom of flying down the ski slopes. Of course, when you’re moving at high speed, you can’t afford to miss any obstacles that might be in the way. That’s why it’s especially important to choose the best polarised ski goggles that you can afford.

At MessyWeekends, we want you to hit the slopes adequately protected and in grand style. That's why we've developed our one-of-a-kind, contemporary, polarised ski goggles. We keep the price affordable because everyone deserves a touch of luxe designer style in their lives.

You’ll notice that our range of options is still small. We’ve kept it that way by design to help manage costs and create the perfect product. In Copenhagen, we follow the simple motto – everything worth doing is worth doing well.

That’s why you won’t see anything but great value and high quality with our polarised ski goggles sale. Our design is unisex, and you can wear them as men's polarised or women's ski goggles.

How to Find Your Match

How do you know you’re getting a great pair of goggles? Let’s go through some features you should look for.

The Shape of the Lens

Lenses that curve around the face have been around for ages now. We know that this design is better because it provides better protection for the eyes.

Your standard option is for the shape to curve horizontally. The lenses themselves are flat on the vertical plane.

Spherical lenses are an upgrade to this fundamental design. They're pricier because they're more rounded. The curve is both horizontal and vertical. It’s something like the effect of a bubble or fishbowl.

The advantage of a spherical design is that it doesn’t block your peripheral vision. It’s also better for cutting out glare.

Anti-Fogging

Even the most advanced goggles on the planet are useless if they keep fogging up. Unfortunately, fogging can happen fairly quickly. It's fundamental physics – as your body temperature rises, the temperature inside the goggles rises too, warming the glass.

When the cold air outside hits the glass, fogging occurs. Fortunately, there are a few tricks that manufacturers can use to prevent this.

  • Using Double-layered lenses: Two lenses are lined up one behind the other with a small gap in between. This area is completely sealed off, so no moisture can seep in. The inner lens heats up, but the heat doesn't transfer to the outer glass. That means no fogging.
  • Anti-fog Coating: What we're talking about here is a coating that helps to prevent fogging. It's built-in during manufacture.
  • Vents: Having strategically-placed vents can be an excellent solution. Vents allow warm air to escape and some cooling air in, reducing the temperature difference between outside and inside and so reducing fogging.

See the World Through Rose-Coloured Glasses

Or, depending on the light available, green or silver ones instead of rose-coloured. The colour of the lens has an impact on how much visible light gets through to your eyes.

Darker colours block more light, and lighter colours allow more light through. Here are some colour options to consider

In Poor Light

In Bright Light

Yellow

Copper

Amber

Blue

Rose

Silver

Gold

Brown

Green

Gray

Clear lenses work the best for night-time use.

Some Other Things to Take Into Account

UV Protection

UV protection is essential if you’re hitting the slopes. It’s not just the direct rays of the sun to worry about, but the reflected rays from the snow as well.

Polarization

Back to those direct and indirect rays again. Polarised lenses take the protection up another level. With these models, a laminated layer gets into the design. This layer will allow some direct light in, depending on the angle of the rays.

Indirect light, such as light reflected off snow, bounces off the lens because it's coming in at the wrong angle. Polarised lenses can reduce the amount of light that gets through by as much as 50 percent. Such a reduction is an upgrade that you’ll appreciate on the slopes.

Photochromatic

This refers to lenses that react to light. When the sun is bright, the colour darkens to give you optimal protection. When light conditions are low, the colour lightens to provide you with better visibility.

Mirrored

These have a special coating applied to them. This coating is highly reflective and can reduce the visible light by as much as 60 percent.

The Fit

It's vital to get the fit right. If the glasses are too tight, you won't wear them. If they're too loose, they'll let in too much light.
